History

Gharib & Partners is a Lebanese Certified Public Accounting Firm. The Firm was registered with the Lebanese Association of Certified Public Accountants (LACPA), under registration no. 85/2013.

MICHEL GHARIB

Managing Partner

Michel is the firm’s managing partner. Michel steers the firm with the assistance of a team of professional staff. Michel is a seasoned Lebanese Certified Public Accountant and a Sworn – Expert with the Lebanese courts.  Mr. Gharib started his career in the banking sector and later moved on to establish himself as a sole-practitioner in the early 70’s and has grown the client base and our firm to be at its current service level. In addition to his audit and accounting experience, Mr. Gharib is our Tax Subject Matter Expert (SME), and his achievements on that front are numerous. 

RALPH GHARIB

Partner

Ralph is the lead partner on a number of clients’ engagements. He overseas and ensures the performance and delivery of our professional services. Ralph is also the quality control partner, where he manages the staff training and performance reviews, assesses clients’ satisfaction levels, and ensures all services are delivered in accordance to International Professional and Ethical Standards. A CPA- Certified Public Accountant (USA), a CA- Chartered Accountant (Canada), and an MBA holder, Ralph was also a part-time lecturer at the Lebanese American University (Accounting & Finance Institute).

Ralph enjoys over twenty-two years of experience in Audit, Advisory and Complex Transactions services to Lebanese and North American clients. Prior to joining the firm, Ralph started his full-time professional track in 1997, with Deloitte & Touche (Lebanon) as a Senior Auditor where he delivered professional services to a suite of clients and industries.  In 2001, he embarked on a long term journey in Canada working with Grant Thornton LLP and later with KPMG LLP in Toronto until mid-2006. At KPMG, he was a member of the specialized Financial Institutions and Real Estate group, where he last occupied the position of Senior Manager.

Subsequent to KPMG, and until his return to Lebanon, Ralph was a Director and Financial Controller at ING Bank of Canada, overseeing complex treasury transactions including but not limited to hedging strategies and securitization. Ralph was also responsible for the middle office, the valuation desk, and the financial reporting function.
